- Effect
- The gauntlets feel like gloves, but protect better than metal. Also, the gauntlets completely protect the wearer's hands from any temperature based effects, but the wearer cannot feel temperature through the gauntlets. Consider the wearer to have Physical Armor of 5 for the hands.

- Effect
- The wearer may surround something held (in a gauntleted hand) with dim flame or cold, adding one step to damage tests. The held object is not protected from this effect, and could be damaged by maintaining this effect or by alternating heat and cold. Also, by spending one Strain, the wearer may add a bonus equal to the Thread Rank to the step of any test directly using the hands. Consider the wearer to have Physical Armor of 8 on the hands.

- Wearer must learn the name of the elementalist who made the gauntlets.
- Effect
- The flame or cold is now stronger and the damage increases to a D4 step bonus. The gauntlets exactly envelop the wielder's hands like a layer of crystal--they can only be removed by someone with a thread tied to this rank. Also, the wearer may surround the gauntlets with cold or flame without holding something. Consider the hand Armor Rating to be 13.

- Effect
- The gauntlets may be used with talents or effects that alter the wearer's hands or require touching, such as Claw Shape or Spirit Grip. Also, by spending a Karma point, the wearer may add the result of the Karma test to the step of any test directly using the hands, or to the flame or cold damage. Consider the hand Armor Rating to be 20.
